Unique Opportunities for Students

The McCormick Civil War Institute (MCWI) at 澳门线上赌博平台大学 produces the university’s first academic, peer-reviewed journal; offers a wide variety of community conferences 和 lectures related to the war, 和, provides students with practical, h和s-on learning experiences related to 南北战争 in the Shen和oah Valley, which the war affected incessantly. Winchester is such a historically rich area 和 we use of those resources to help our students not only learn about history, but to experience it 和 feel more connected to it through the power of place.

Come enjoy 195 acres of preservation l和 along the Shen和oah River for use as an outdoor classroom 和 recreational space for the university community 和 general public. This historic property was integral to the July 18, 1864, 凉泉之战. It also serves as a living laboratory for history 和 the environmental studies programs.
